Opened in 1959, Daytona International Speedway has grown to become the most famous track in all of NASCAR. Seating over 147,000, Daytona offers some of the most dramatic racing in the sport, including the biggest event in stock car racing, the DAYTONA 500, which kicks off the NASCAR season each February. Built in 1957 by “Big Bill” France as the solution to getting auto racing organized, Daytona International Speedway is the 2nd longest speedway in America. In addition to NASCAR tickets, the speedway now has tickets available for ARCA, AMA Superbike, USCC, SCCA, and Motocross events. In NASCAR, nobody has won more races at Daytona than Dale Earnhardt Sr. with an astounding 34 victories. In 1998, lights were installed around the track so that races could continue after dark. This made Daytona International Speedway the third-largest single lit outdoor sports facility in the world. Host to the DAYTONA 500, Coke Zero Sugar 400, and many other racing series throughout the year, Daytona International Speedway is one of the prime sports destinations in the southeast United States.
