The vision of Cameron Argetsinger, Watkins Glen International is named after the village of Watkins Glen in New York where Argetsinger brought formula one racing to the United States after World War II. Now one of two road courses used in the NASCAR Cup Series, “The Glen” is a 2.45 mile road course. Throughout the years, Watkins Glen has come to be known as the premier road course in the United States and is the host of the United States Grand Prix, first run in 1961. Tony Stewart has the most NASCAR Cup Series wins at Watkins Glen, Mark Martin has also been successful there holding the top spot in both top 5 and top 10 finishes. The course has its own hall of fame and inductees are referred to as “Legends of the Glen”. Recent members include Tony Stewart, Mark Martin, Cameron & Jean Argetsinger, Scott Pruett, and Mario Andretti.
