Georgetown University Athletics Selects Anthony Travel

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Georgetown University has named Anthony Travel as the Official Travel Partner of Georgetown University Athletics. Anthony Travel will provide all travel arrangements for the Hoyas’ Athletic Department including air, hotel, bus, car, charter and hospitality needs for teams, coaches, administration and staff. In addition to day-to-day travel services, Anthony Travel will also provide the Hoyas with special event travel services including fan and alumni trips to premiere destinations such as post-season tournament and championship events.

“After a widespread search where we evaluated many of the top travel providers in the country, we selected Anthony Travel based on their extensive experience, high level of customer service and cost savings with other schools,” said Athletic Director Bernard Muir. “Their focus on collegiate travel with other prestigious schools is significant for us. We are enthusiastic about our partnership with Anthony Travel, and look forward to the savings and benefits that will result from their efforts.”

Implementation plans call for all individual travel, team travel and support to be managed by Joanne Davis, a 22-year travel industry veteran and Anthony Travel representative, on-site in the Georgetown Athletic Department office.

Georgetown becomes the tenth institution, and second Big East Conference member, to designate Anthony Travel as a year-round travel partner. Anthony Travel, a full-service travel management company, provides travel services to many of the most prestigious universities in the nation, such as the University of Notre Dame, Stanford University Athletics, University of North Carolina Athletics, Indiana University Athletics and Purdue University Athletics.
